Giving Back After the Storm: 5% of July Grounded Growth Studio Contracts to Support Texas Flood Victims

Over the weekend, historic rainfall swept through Central Texas, triggering devastating flash floods that overtook rivers, roadways, and campsites. One of the hardest hit areas was along the Guadalupe River near Hunt, where floodwaters rose rapidly and with terrifying force.

Among the worst of the tragedies was the destruction at Camp Mystic, a beloved all-girls camp that’s been a part of Hill Country summers for generations. Multiple people were swept away by the current—many of them children. Emergency crews, first responders, and local volunteers have been working around the clock to search, rescue, and recover, doing courageous work in heartbreaking conditions. As I write this, additional rain is in the forecast, making everything harder.

As someone who grew up in and still lives in Central Texas, flash floods are a familiar part of life here. I’ve seen dry creek beds turn into rushing rivers in minutes. But I’ve never seen anything quite like this, especially not an event that has taken such a heavy toll on families and children.

Now, as a mother of four, including three girls, this feels incredibly close to home. I’ve done the camp drop-off of my older daughters in this very region. I’ve packed the trunks, labeled the sunscreen, waved goodbye at the gate. It’s supposed to be a place where childhood happens—where joy, confidence, and connection take root. To imagine that safety shattered so suddenly is beyond devastating.

These families are facing the unimaginable. And they’re not alone. All across the Hill Country, homes have been destroyed, livelihoods disrupted, and lives lost.

If you’re looking for a way to help, I encourage you to support the Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN). They’re converting donations into direct aid—like gift cards and essential supplies—for flood victims across Kerr, Travis, Williamson, Burnet, and surrounding counties. Their work is fast, compassionate, and deeply embedded in the community.

In the spirit of doing what I can, I’ll be donating 5% of the total contract amount from all new Grounded Growth Studio clients through the end of July to ADRN to help get that aid into the hands of people who need it now.

If you're a business owner looking for marketing support, I'd love to help you grow—but today, my bigger hope is that we all take a moment to look around, hold our loved ones close, and do what we can to lift this community back up.

If you’ve been considering working together, reach out and let me know so we can talk about how I can support your growth—and contribute to something bigger in the process.
